PORTLAND, Ore. (April 2, 2019) —The Portland Pickles are pleased to announce June 5th, 2019, as the second annual Pride Night, this season in partnership with Basic Rights Oregon.

“Baseball is for everyone and anyone,” said Ross Campbell, General Manager.  “We have always strived to be an inclusive environment at Walker Stadium, and I see Pride Night as aligning with our continued emphasis that everyone is accepted and welcome here. We are thrilled to be working with such an important organization as Basic Rights Oregon to make this a memorable event!”

Basic Rights Oregon is an organization that advocates for lived and legal equality for our lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) communities, and centers on racial and transgender justice. They work statewide in order to ensure all Oregonians can live free of discrimination.

“The Portland Pickles welcome LGBTQ fans all season long, and this Pride Night gives baseball fans a chance to support the work we do for equality,” said Nancy Haque, Executive Director of Basic Rights Oregon.

The Pickles will be debuting special New Era Pride Hats and exclusive apparel to fans for this matchup.

Basic Rights Oregon will be heading up the 50/50 raffle, with all proceeds going to them. The Pickles are looking for 6-10 individuals to debut their new community program, where organizations run a snack stand, with 10% of sales going to that organization.
