Worth The Wait: Lau Walks It Off In The 12th Inning

The Pickles ended Friday night matchup with the San Francisco Seals the same way they started it, with a ball being blasted over the left field fence at Walker Stadium. The first of the night was a leadoff home run off of the bat of John Jensen, 12 innings later, Everett Lau finally put an end to an excellent, competitive ballgame by smashing a three run walk off home run for a 5-2 score. The Pickles also got excellent pitching up and down tonight as Titus Groeneweg, Christian Ciuffetelli, Justin Kelly, Trent Bixby, Connor Thurman, and Daniel Naughton combined for 10 strikeouts over the 12 innings while only surrendering 5 hits and 2 runs. Pickles are back in action tomorrow night for game 2 against the San Francisco Seals, first pitch at 7:05
