Pickles Get Back On Track With Series Opening Win

A big fourth inning ended up being the difference for the Portland Pickles as they ended up taking the series opener against the Walla Walla Sweets. The Pickles gave up a pair of runs in the first two innings and entered the fourth inning trailing 2-1, then they were able to open up the scoring with a few timely hits off of Walla starter Reid Sebby. That four run fourth proved to be enough as the Pickles held on to the lead as Tim Post came in with the bases loaded and got a double play and a strikeout, and then was able to hang another zero in the 9th inning. Calvin Schapira ended up getting the win on the mound. The Pickles were led on offense by a 2-4 day from Jon Jensen, and a trio of one hit and one RBI games from Chase Luttrell, Johnathan Kelly, and Gabe Skoro. The Pickles will be back in action tomorrow night, first pitch at 7:05
