Pickles Start Last Series On Right Foot With Win

On a Friday night at Walker Stadium, it was a back and forth game in the early innings. Portland got off to a one run lead in the first inning only to see Cowlitz answer with three runs of their own. Portland was then able to tie it up in the bottom of the third, only to see that lead once again slip away as Cowlitz got one back. Portland then had their big inning to give them a lead that they would never give back. Cowlitz made a late push with run in the 8th and a run in the 9th, before Nicolas Lopez came in and shut the door and held on to give Portland a 7-6 win. Trent Bixby got the win on the mound while Lopez got his first save of the summer. Pickles were led on offense by Thomas Rudisnky who was 3-3 with 3 RBI, and John Jensen who clubbed his 7th home run of the summer. Pickles are back in action tomorrow night for game two of the series, first pitch at 7:05
