Second team selections included Pickles outfielder John Jensen, the senior to be at UC Irvine. Jensen over the summer recorded 54 hits in 40 games, good for a .338 average.  He also slugged 7 home runs, which was tied for the team lead, and included 24 RBI and 14 stolen bases.  Jensen’s best performance came August 7th in a win at Bend, where he got 5 hits and drove in 3.  Jensen entered a game on August 3rd with an average sitting right at .300, and over the final week of the season was able to raise that average all the way up to .338, which was good for 4th highest in the whole West Coast League.

Also, Pickles Owner Alan Miller was rewarded the West Coast League Executive of the Year for his efforts. Miller took over the operations of the Pickles in February and made a lot happen in such a short time. He was behind some of the great new promotions that the Pickles debuted this year such as DB Cooper night and the Rockin the Walk Concert series every Friday. He also orchestrated some new sponserships such as Lazarus Naturals, and even the Mazatlan Venados baseball team out of Mexico.
