PORTLAND, Ore. (August 28, 2019): The 2019 WCL season has come to a close and Portland Pickles owner, Alan Miller, has taken home the 2019 Executive of the Year award for his front office efforts. Miller was able to orchestrate many new promotional nights and sponsorship deals that not only the Pickle faithful, but the baseball public had never seen before.
Alongside General Manager Ross Campbell and a fantastic front office, Miller was able to implement a baseball environment unlike any other. New Promo nights at Walker stadium, such as Rockin the Walk concert series; DJ’s at every game, D.B Cooper night and who could forget Future Baseball night? A baseball game that introduced a handful of new and wacky rules that reflected a style of baseball that could be played in the year 2050.
Miller was also able to connect with the Portland community through their love of soccer and their love of tattoos. The Pickles hosted a Soccer City USA night, with “soccer kit” style uniforms that were auctioned off to fans and a Tattoo Tuesday in which fans were able to show off their Pickle pride by receiving free Pickle themed tattoos.
And now that the season is over it does not stop. The Pickles front office will be taking a team of all stars down to Mazatlan to play the Mazatlan Venados in their new 16,000 seat stadium. In addition to the All Stars, the Pickles held tryouts for one fan to make the team. Over 100 applicants arrived and the fans were there to cheer them on.
For these reasons please Join us in congratulating Alan Miller for all of his efforts this year and in the future. Pickle Nation has a lot to look forward to as Miller and the front office staff have a full offseason to prepare for next year. There is only reason to believe the 2020 season can be even greater with a heap of new and exciting things to look forward to.
