Portland, OR--The Portland Pickles beat the Yuba City Bears soundly again on Wednesday night, winning by a final score of 11-2.  The Pickles swept the Bears for the second time this season, and also improved to above .500 for the first time this summer.  They outscored the Bears 39-6 over the three-game series.
Griffin Mueller had three hits for Portland, including a grand slam, two doubles, and five total RBIs.  Andrew Eppenbach (1-1) earned the win, going six innings and allowing only one run, while striking out six batters.
The Pickles scored six runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by Mueller's slam. Tate Budnick also had three hits for Portland, including a double and an RBI single in the eighth inning.  Matt Hardy had two hits, and Joey Cooper drew three walks and had an RBI double in the eighth inning.  Mitch Maynes pitched two hit-less innings out of the Pickles bullpen.
Jalen Johnson led the Bears with two hits, including a double, and scored both of Yuba City's runs on wild pitches.  Starter Dalton Bishop (0-3) took the loss, allowing six earned runs in 4.1 innings, and walking four Pickles hitters.
The Pickles (29-28) host the Medford Rogues on Thursday night at Walker Stadium in the first game of a three-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 7:35, and coverage will start at 7:30. The game can be heard on Sunny 1550 and will be streamed on picklesbaseball.com.
